Welcome to Jammin Jr (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We operate the website jamminjr.com and the learning games available on it, including Word Builder Adventure, Letter Heroes, Reading Focus, Letter Lift, Phonics Lab, Sound Studio, and Word Craft (collectively, the “Service”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our Service, especially children.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights parents and guardians have over their child’s information.

1. Who We Are

Jammin Jr is operated by GrowByMe, LLC, located in Bastrop, TX 78602, United States.

Privacy contact: privacy@jammin.chat Parents and guardians may use this address to exercise any rights described in this policy.

2. Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Our Service is directed at children under the age of 13. We comply fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which is enforced by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The most important thing to know: Our Service is designed so that children can play all games without providing any personal information at all. Creating an account is optional and is handled entirely by a parent or guardian. No child is ever asked for their name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information.

A note on independent certification: We are evaluating kidSAFE® Seal Program certification as a future trust seal. kidSAFE is a seal that parents and app stores recognize, and it further reduces FTC enforcement risk. Certification is not required for the Service to be COPPA-compliant today, so it is not part of our launch requirements; we will pursue it as a down-the-road enhancement once the Service is established.

3. The Two Ways to Use the Service

Guest Mode (no account required)

Any visitor can play all games in guest mode, including Word Builder Adventure, Letter Heroes, Reading Focus, Letter Lift, Phonics Lab, Sound Studio, and Word Craft, without creating an account. In Guest Mode:

Because no personal information is collected in Guest Mode, COPPA’s parental consent requirements do not apply to Guest Mode use.

Signed-In Mode (optional, parent creates account)

A parent or guardian may create an account to enable score saving and cross-device progress. The account is created and owned by the parent. Children do not create their own accounts.

When a parent creates an account we collect:

InformationWhy we collect it
Parent’s email addressAccount identifier; sending the verification email that constitutes verifiable parental consent under COPPA
Parent’s password (hashed, never stored in plain text)Account security
Child profile nickname (e.g. “Ella” or “SuperStar”)To show a friendly name in the game; entered by the parent
Child profile avatar (a number 1–[N] representing a built-in cartoon image)Lets the child identify their profile visually without reading
Child profile PIN (4 digits, hashed, never stored in plain text)Lets the child switch to their profile on a shared device without typing a password
Game scores and level progressPersisting progress so it is not lost if the browser cache is cleared or the child switches devices
Anonymous tuning telemetry (random local anon ID, game, mode, event type, level, score, correctness totals, duration, signed-in/guest flag)Balancing level difficulty, identifying friction points, and improving game quality without storing direct child identity in telemetry events

We do not collect: the child’s real full name, date of birth, address, phone number, school name, photograph, voice recording, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

4. Parental Consent Under COPPA

When a parent registers an account, we send a verification email to the address provided. The parent must click the confirmation link in that email before the account becomes active and any child data is stored. This process - known as the “email-plus” method - constitutes verifiable parental consent as defined by the FTC under COPPA.

We will not store any personal information about a child until parental consent has been verified.

5. How We Use Information

We do not use any information for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose other than providing the Service described above.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services in the operation of the Service:

Google Gemini AI (Word Builder Adventure only)

When a player uses Word Builder Adventure, the word they type is sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate an illustration. The words are common nouns (e.g. animal or object names) and do not constitute personal information under COPPA. No user identity, account information, or IP address is included in the data sent to Google. In Signed-In Mode, the request is made by an identified user, and Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. Google processes this data under its Data Processing Terms.

Asset and model delivery infrastructure

We load some site assets and model files through providers including jsDelivr, Hugging Face-hosted model files, and Google Fonts. These providers may receive standard technical request information (such as IP address, user-agent, and request timestamps) necessary to serve those files.

Email delivery provider

Verification and password reset emails are delivered through our SMTP email provider, which processes parent email addresses and transactional message metadata to deliver account emails.

We do not use advertising networks, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral profiling tools.

7. Data Retention

8. Parental Rights (COPPA)

A parent or guardian who has created an account has the right to:

To verify a parental deletion request made by email, we will ask you to confirm ownership of the registered email address. We will complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.

9. Texas Resident Rights (TDPSA)

If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) gives you additional rights with respect to your personal data:

Categories of Data We Process

Purpose of Processing

We process personal data only for the purposes described in Sections 3, 5, and 8 of this Policy: creating and maintaining parent accounts and child profiles, saving and displaying game scores and progress, improving game quality through anonymous tuning telemetry, sending account verification and password reset emails, and maintaining the security and technical operation of the Service. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for targeted advertising or behavioural profiling.

How to Submit a Deletion or Access Request

To access (obtain a copy of) or delete your personal data, a Texas resident may submit a request by emailing privacy@jammin.chat or by using the controls in your account settings at jamminjr.com/account. We will verify your request using reasonable means and will respond within 45 days as required by law.

If we decline to take action on a request, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response or emailing privacy@jammin.chat with the subject line “TDPSA Appeal”. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days. You may also contact the Texas Attorney General if you believe your rights under the TDPSA have been violated.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@jammin.chat.

11. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a single authentication cookie to keep a parent logged in. This cookie is:

In Guest Mode, we use the browser’s localStorage to save game scores and progress on your own device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.

12. Business Transfers

If GrowByMe, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing transaction, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its assets, information covered by this Privacy Policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Any successor entity will be required to honor the commitments in this Privacy Policy, including COPPA protections and parental rights, unless and until you are notified of lawful changes.

13. Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process (for example, subpoena, court order, or governmental request), or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, children, GrowByMe, LLC, or others.

14. U.S. State Privacy Rights

We honor applicable U.S. state privacy laws, including the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) and, where applicable, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to appeal certain privacy decisions. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@jammin.chat.

We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change affecting how we handle children’s personal information, we will notify registered parents by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
